It's been quite the day in the gaming industry. First, we got major news about the next Halo game and now, Creative Assembly and SEGA have announced that a sequel to their beloved survival horror Alien Isolation is officially in the works.
The news was shared by Al Hope, the Creative Director of Alien: Isolation who said the team will be sharing more details about the game when they are ready. It's a pretty barebones announcement but regardless, myself and many other Alien: Isolation fans are delighted to hear that Creative Assembly are finally doing it.
Hope stated in the message that they heard the "distress calls" from fans loud and clear and felt that it was only fitting to let everyone know about the sequel on the game's 10th anniversary. Yes, it's been 10 years since the release of Alien Isolation. Time really does fly.
Previously, we only had rumours, which you can check out above, about the Alien Isolation sequel, which revealed that the game was reportedly in the concept phase back in 2021.
Details about the story, the protagonist and the potential release date are non-existent but hopefully, we'll get something from Creative Assembly soon. The lack of any concept art or even an in-engine trailer does say a lot so we'll probably be waiting for a couple of more years to play this one.
The first Alien Isolation still stands as one of the best survival horrors mainly due to its incredible atmosphere and the Alien AI, which resulted in some anxiety-inducing moments.
The game was a bit too long for my liking, though, so I hope the sequel is bit shorter but more focused experience.
