It's been a close fight for the title of the best-selling physical game last week, with FIFA 21 coming back from behind to snatch the bragging rights away from Ubisoft.
FIFA 21 saw its sales rise by 8 per cent, which coupled with other results turned out to be enough to come from fourth place and claim gold.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has done well the week before, but the 21 per cent dip in weekly sales made sure that the game's stay at the top was a brief one. Which is not to say its return isn't impressive, mind you, especially at a time when everyone expected Cyberpunk 2077 to blow away the competition
Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, the RPG has taken a dive from third place, finishing eighth thanks to a 57 per cent drop in sales.
Nintendo Switch continued to feature heavily in the boxed sales chart. As pointed out by GamesIndustry, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has had its best year yet, with each year since the 2017 launch being more successful than the last.
As you can see, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Minecraft are also there, which really suggests Nintendo are winning while Microsoft are racing Sony to supply the market with fresh consoles.
