A new teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has finally been released today, giving fans the first look at the upcoming anime and revealing that it will arrive some time in Fall 2026.
Fans first caught wind of a sequel anime at Anime Expo 2025 when it was announced, but now we finally get our first official look at the standalone follow-up.
While fans still have to wait until July for a full look at the sequel, CD Projekt Red and Studio TRIGGER dropped a brief teaser today full of action, mystery, and everything we loved about the original.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 stars an all-new cast of characters that we are introduced to in the brief teaser. The identities, roles, and goals of these characters are unknown but we can assume that they’re as edgy as it gets.
The action and world building take place in Night City once again and if the trailer is any indication, we will see more cyberpsycho drives, crazy violence, and what made season 1 so cool.
Animation in the trailer is a nice mix of classic anime inspired visuals and new age animation. An intense soundtrack helps to set the tone for some of the fast-paced action we see in the trailer.
The trailer concludes by confirming that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere in Fall 2026 Production is once again being handled by CD Projekt Red and Studio TRIGGER. Director Kai Ikarashi worked on both the original Edgerunners and SSSS.Gridman, and is joined by new lead character designer Kanno Ichigo who previously worked on Promare.
Showrunner, writer, and producer Bartosz Sztybor returns for round two. Fans won’t have to wait too long until they learn more about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, as the full reveal won’t take place until later this month.
