We've heard our fair share of ridiculous requests but it seems that one fan's quest to make Shaggy a DLC character in NetherRealm's upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat 11 is no longer ridiculous, as the game's director Ed Boon played along.

Much has been said about Mortal Kombat 11's guest characters in the past week, as the game's announcement was followed by a flurry of enquiries and suggestions of various characters, old and new alike.

One fan, however, took it one step further and created a petition at, calling for Shaggy, the goofball from Scooby Doo cartoons, to be included in NetherRealm's instalment to the Mortal Kombat franchise.

The petition gained some serious traction in the meantime and at the time of writing, a total of 203,083 fans are interested in getting Shaggy into Mortal Kombat 11. Their reasons are almost as hilarious as the petition, ranging from "he's the hero we deserve" and "make Shaggy great again!", to suggesting that only he can kill a god.

As you'd expect, the resulting Twitter spam reached Mortal Kombat 11's director Ed Boon, who initially wasn't very interested in the idea. Replying to a fan who wrote "we want Shaggy", Boon said, "Let me know how that works out for you..."

It didn't take long for Boon to change the tune, no rhyme intended, as he posted the image you see above, writing, "Hi? Lo? Mid? Grab? I will mix your s*** up in fighting games!"

Now, we're not really sure what to think of this, because at first, it seems Mortal Kombat 11 is indeed getting Shaggy. On the other hand, Boon didn't start this joke, he only kept it going so we guess we'll have to wait a bit more to find out.

Funnily enough, Matthew Lillard, the actor who played Shaggy in the live action movies, posted an uncropped version of the above painting, crediting the author, who by the way doesn't even remember painting it and writing, "You have done well my child. Zoink."

You can find Boon's tweet and Lillard's , while the petition is over .
