Bethesda's latest blog post is a mixed bag as they revealed that Wastelanders is shaping up to be the best and the biggest Fallout 76 update yet, but that it's been delayed until Q1 of 2020. Private servers are coming soon though.
Fallout 76 is fast approaching its first anniversary but Wastelanders requires more time to "be the best, most polished update it can be."
"We’ve continued to re-evaluate and change our processes to make sure the work we’re doing hits our quality bar, and yours. We apologize for this delay but know it will be worth the extra time", they wrote.
On the bright side, though, Bethesda is promising one of the biggest expansions they've ever done. Considering the Fallout franchise's almost religious reliance on NPCs, many found Fallout 76's lack of them sacrilegious, but that too will be fixed.
Bethesda posted a few photo-teasers so Fallout 76 players know what to expect. You can find the rest of Wastelanders NPC, features and locations in our gallery below.
As for more immediate features, the work on Fallout 76's private servers is done and will be launching next week. Apparently, they've been the number one community-requested feature too.
"Our goal for players who purchase this service is to offer something for everyone, not just those who want a private server. Additionally, in able to mod your worlds. Stay tuned for more information on the service in the coming days."
Bethesda will be changing up their approach with the Atomic Shop too, as player feedback and in-game data clearly showed that utility items have been the most popular category. "To make the system more fun and engaging for all players, we plan on reworking parts of the Challenge and reward system next year to be clearer, more fun, and more impactful for all types of players", they said.
