The Hideout issue with fuel consumption that has frustrated players for more than two weeks has finally been resolved.
Solar power is the most expensive Hideout upgrade that is available in Escape from Tarkov and a very much-needed upgrade long term as it cuts fuel consumption in half. It also allows users to construct the level 3 BItcoin farm.
But for the last two weeks, the Battlestate Games broke the calculation system with one of their updates, causing the fuel consumption to double when not logged into the game.
The only solution to keep the Solar panel working was to never shut down the game and have it running 24/7, which was almost impossible considering the new game started kicking out inactive users for performance reasons.
This calculation issue burned a lot of players who voiced their dissatisfaction on Discord, Reddit, and the official Escape from Tarkov forum.
On the 27th of January, Battlestate Games announced that they are aware of the issue and advised players to hold off with the Solar panel until the issues have been resolved.
Almost two weeks have passed with the issue being unresolved, but finally, with today's update, it was announced that it was fixed so players can get the panel working again.
Nikita, the C.E.O. of Battlestate Games, recently mentioned that half of their developers have had COVID in the last couple of weeks, so that was probably the reason why this issue took so long to fix, as mostly they resolve the major issues within a day or two of reporting.
