EA Sports has released the first EA FC 27 gameplay trailer, officially announcing the release date for next year’s football title. EA FC 27 will launch September 25, 2026, while owners of the Ultimate Edition will have early access starting September 18.
The release date was in line with prior reports and continues a trend of late-September launches for EA’s football games. The new gameplay trailer not only confirmed the September launch but also showcased a number of gameplay improvements coming to the series alongside brand-new features players can expect this year.
A huge new addition coming to EA FC 27 is The Grounds, a social hub where players can connect with friends to hang out, explore, and play different minigames.
Activities in The Grounds include Kickabouts and Clubs. However, The Grounds will only be available for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. In addition to new modes, EA FC 27 will offer a number of gameplay improvements that aim to elevate both attacking and defending.
These include new dynamic corner routines, improved attacking awareness, and player-oriented defensive controls, among other things.Manager Career mode will also see a number of quality-of-life improvements including an overhaul to the transfer market.
Player valuations will be more realistic, AI clubs will actively bid on players, and players will have more negotiating tools at their disposal including buy- back clauses.
Ultimate Team will also see some new additions, most notably the FUT Gallery, which allows players to express their club’s identity while competing for cards and rewards.
EA also confirmed that the game will feature over 21,000 players from over 800 clubs and national teams. With the gameplay trailer out in the world, the official marketing engine for EA FC 27 has begun ahead of its September release. We should expect to see deeper dives into the game’s features over the next several weeks.
