Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered has been delayed, developer/publisher Koei Tecmo has confirmed. It was due to arrive on March 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC, but no further details on the release date have been confirmed as to when we can expect it.
On social media, Koei Tecmo issued a statement saying that the game has been delayed so the development team can use the extra time to enhance the game's overall quality.
Remaster Was Revealed During State of Play
Dynasty Warriors 3 was announced last September as part of a State of Play. The reaction was immediate from fans of the original game, considered one of the seminal titles in the Dynasty Warriors franchise that defined and established what we know today as the bloated Dynasty Warriors formula.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will contain all of the visual enhancements, quality of life improvements, and content added in DLC from the original game.
Koei Tecmo Promises Quality Improvements
No specifics were given as to what areas of the game need more polish, but Koei Tecmo said that the delay will allow them to “fully satisfy” fans of the franchise.
It can be assumed that the title still needs more refining, optimisations or other possible technical changes.Koei Tecmo didn’t offer a new projected timeframe for the game’s release but said we can expect an updated date “soon.”
What This Means for Players
Frustrating as it is to hear about a delay, they can be a good thing if it means the final product is better.
Optimizing a game to run across several generations of hardware can take time, so the extra development time could ensure DW3 runs smoothly no matter what platform you choose to play it on.
