The Vampire Survivors phenomenon isn't slowing down. Developer poncle has today confirmed that Vampire Crawlers, the series' first proper spin-off, will get its debut public demo on 23 February during Steam Next Fest, with Xbox players getting access simultaneously. If you've been among the 200,000+ who've wishlisted the game since its November 2025 announcement, you won't have to wait much longer to get your hands on it.
Alongside the demo announcement, poncle has launched "Let's Explore Vampire Crawlers," a bite-sized video series (yes, they're leaning into the vampire puns) that dives into the game's key features. The first episode is available now, with more dropping over the coming weeks.
The debut video reveals two central mechanics that should please both card game veterans and fans looking for something faster-paced. The TurboTurn system lets you chain commands without waiting for animations to finish, the game intelligently queuing your actions whilst keeping combat visually satisfying. It's turn-based without the tedium, essentially.
Card customisation comes via Gems, which modify your deck with effects ranging from simple damage boosts to full-blown Weapon Evolutions. Whether you're after straightforward power or deep strategic combos, the system appears flexible enough to support both playstyles.
With the demo just a month away, Vampire Survivors fans finally get to see if poncle can work the same magic in a completely different genre.
What Is Vampire Crawlers?
For those who've missed the hype, Vampire Crawlers trades the original's bullet hell chaos for what poncle calls a "turboturn deckbuilder." It's heading to pretty much everything when it launches fully in 2026: Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. That's quite the platform spread for a game that started life as a cheeky £2.50 indie title.
