Dying Light: The Beast is receiving an epic upgrade later this week, as Techland has officially announced the release of Restored Land Edition on March 26. This massive update will present players with an entirely new way to play Dying Light with survivalism, scarcity, and permadeath elements taking center stage.
Players who own Dying Light will be able to access Restored Land content for free, though the update also coincides with a new edition of the game that includes all prior updates.
Everything about Restored Land Mode
The most exciting addition to Dying Light: The Beast is undoubtedly Restored Land mode. For players who choose to tackle the game with this mode on, here’s how the open world will operate differently:
- Restored Land takes place in Castor Woods where the open world feels much more “permanent”
- Zombies will not respawn
- Items will not respawn
- Convoy missions and Dark Zones cannot be repeated
This will introduce permanency and force players to play much smarter with the limited resources they come across.
A Much Harder Survival Experience
Players are also warned that this game mode will be significantly harder. Techland is promising players the “ultimate survival experience” with the implementation of systems like:
- Scarce resources throughout the map
- Expensive vendors
- Consumable hunger system to keep Kyle fed
- Flashlight battery management
These changes should provide players with a much tougher experience than what is found in the base game.
If players are looking for an even greater challenge, you can enable One Life mode.Death now means game over for your entire run, forcing you to start all the way from the beginning.
New Content and Improvements
In addition to all of the changes mentioned above, this update will introduce:
- Roadkill Rallies – Vehicle focused timed missions
- Upgradable armoured vehicles that can be unlocked
- New achievements, encounters, and finishers
- Visible performance upgrades
Restored Land will offer players a wildly different experience when it launches this March 26. If you’ve been dying to live out your own survival fantasy, you know where to look.
