Dying Light: The Beast has continued to inch towards its eventual release, and as is now customary, the launch is finally in sight and we know how much space the survival horror from Techland will take on both current-gen consoles. Thanks to the newly appeared database entries on the PlayStation servers, the upcoming DLC’s pre-load date and PS5 download size have been confirmed.
For a number of players, the drive capacity has become a growing issue with the recent launches, particularly on the console side where game sizes balloon ever so quickly. Thankfully, The Beast looks like it will be relatively smaller than what a lot of players were fearing. Dying Light: The Beast PS5 file size is smaller than that of its sequel.
Dying Light: The Beast will hit the store shelves this month, and players will be able to pre-load the game early if they so desire, ensuring everything is ready for them on day one.
Dying Light: The Beast PS5 Download Size
The listing confirms that Dying Light: The Beast will take up 36.546 GB of storage on PS5. This is based on version 01.001.000 of the game, and that is what will be pre-installed as part of the pre-load.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human currently takes up 37.736 GB on PS5, so The Beast is a slightly smaller file size by comparison.
Pre-Load Schedule
Players who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game will be able to start pre-loading it on September 16, 2025. This means that they’ll be able to play right away at launch on September 18, 2025 without having to wait for large downloads to complete.
Those who purchase a physical edition, however, may still have to install the day-one update manually.
