One of the best soulslikes you can play right now, Lies of P, has hit 4 million copies sold worldwide, Neowiz Games confirmed today. It is a solid milestone for a game that launched back in September 2023 and has been quietly building its audience ever since.
The figure includes sales of both the base game and Lies of P: Overture, the prequel DLC released in June 2025 that takes players back to Krat in its final days. Overture has done well critically in its own right, picking up Best DLC at the New York Game Awards, Best Game Expansion at the Golden Joysticks, and additional honours from the Lenovo 3DJuegos Awards, Flow Games Awards, and Korea Game Awards.
For those who have not played it, Lies of P is a single-player Soulslike set in a Belle Époque world built around a dark reimagining of the Pinocchio story. For me personally, it's by far the best non-FromSoftware souls-like game with tight combat, strong sense of atmosphere and a fantastic story.
I particulaty liked how the game delivered its story - instead of only using the traditional item descriptions as the sole way of giving players bits and pieces of the lore, we got plenty of dialogue and cinematics that pushed the narrative forward. I'd even argue it's the perfect example for other soulslikes to follow.
Developer ROUND8 have recentlty pretty much confirmed they are working on a sequel, which tells us these four million copies sold was more than enough to justify a new project. A sequel should help expand the IP even furher, potentially as one of the most popular soulslike franchise on the market, if the dev team nails that follow up.
Lies of P and its DLC Overture is available now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
