Riot Games is bringing Doom Bots back with patch 25.17, but in a much more deadly iteration than in years past. Four players will band together to fight through a 15-minute onslaught of overpowered AI champions from Veigar’s collection before facing the evil yordle himself.
The improved bot technology released last year allowed Riot to simply place the “Doom” mechanics on top of their existing League of Legends bot AI for truly chaotic adversaries.
Players will see Wukong spawn an absurd number of clones when using his abilities, as well as Nami tri-splitting her bubbles and more while supercharged by Veigar’s magic.
Veigar Takes the Throne
Replacing Teemo, Veigar steps into the role of end boss with a twist. Your bots will continue to attack your base while you fight, and Veigar won't go for your Nexus until all inhibitors are down.
Expanding on his lore, Veigar also borrows some of Mordekaiser's moveset, with the option to throw players into his Death Realm to fight his bots.
Trials of Doom
Players can also step up the difficulty with Trials of Doom, a rotating set of modifiers added to the mode each patch. The first Trial buffs all Doom Bots with Veigar's passive, scaling their strength with every spell they hit.
Buffs like bonus item haste and special Prismatic items are there to even the field, but only slightly. Completing all three Trials nets players a special title.
Missions and Curses
Classic Curses are back and are getting some twists of their own. Sometimes to a player's benefit. The mode also features Missions - mid-game tasks issued by Veigar.
Rewarding things like Dragon Souls or gold, failure to complete these before the timer runs out will result in some new threats. The refreshed Doom Bots mode is full of chaos, strategy and surprise.
A blast for both old fans and new, assemble a team, make your strategy, and get ready to do battle with Veigar's new and improved army when patch 25.17 hits.
