Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the 2025 Game of the Year last night, but its victory didn’t end with the night’s top honour. It swept eight more categories, securing its place as the most decorated GOTY title ever awarded.
Apart from winning the shiniest trophy of Game of the Year 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 secured awards for the Best RPG, Best Indie Game, Best Performance (Jennifer English as Maelle), Best Music, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Game Direction, and Best Debut Indie Game – a truly impressive win, without doubt.
To celebrate those insane results, the developers of the game, Sandfall Interactive, announced a new free update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 labelled as the "Thank You" update.
In this free update, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will receive a complete new area to explore, new enemies, new specialised music celebrating this historical accomplishment, a new boss battle, a photo mode, some much-needed quality-of-life improvements, and more.
Here is the complete list of update features from the official Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 website:
