Blizzard revealed they are catching up with the rest of the industry by letting people see their customised characters during cutscenes.
Diablo 4 will feature player-made characters during cutscenes , meaning you will get an additional layer of immersion instead of seeing the game actively avoid displaying the protagonist.
This is great news for Diablo fans who will be seeing this technology for the first time in their favourite series but while it's a giant leap for Blizzard , it is just a small step when compared to the rest of the industry.
Other games have already been doing something similar for quite a while now but one could argue that the depth of Diablo 4 customisation makes the situation different.
Even so, customised Shepards have been taking part in cutscenes for well over a decade now and Baldur's Gate 3 has already shown impressive characters that will be properly shown in the dialogue and cinematic moments during gameplay.
Still, it is good to see that Diablo is striving to improve itself over time. Let's just hope Blizzard doesn't shoot itself in the foot with ridiculous monetisation once again.
No one wants to see a repeat of the infamous auction house from Diablo 3.
