According to the latest rumours, Blizzard will host Diablo 4 beta sometime in 2020 while the release date is set for late 2020 or early 2021.
Earlier this month, Blizzard finally announced Diablo 4, the next instalment in their Action RPG franchise. The company said that Diablo 4 will have a much darker tone, going back to the series roots with "blood and gold" theme. Unfortunately, Blizzard also said that Diablo 4 is still a long way from the official release and the details about the game's features are still pretty scarce.
Blizzard only confirmed two classes but some earlier leaks on Reddit revealed a ton of details about the game, which many didn't believe at that time. The leak claimed that the art style will be very dark, bloody and gritty which turned out to be true. Furthermore, the leak revealed four classes - Paladin, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Amazon and Druid - and these will apparently be available on launch.
"Blizzard were also debating whether to include the Druid or Necromancer class at launch of Diablo IV. Blizzard decided put the Druid for launch of Diablo IV and Necromancer for later, since the Necromancer was released already for Diablo III," it's written in the Reddit post.
On top of this, the leak also reveals the release window and mentions the beta date. Apparently, Blizzard's plan is to prepare for the beta in 2020 and the release after that. The release is currently planned for late 2020 or early 2021 but the latter is more likely at the moment. The game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Project Scarlett.
Of course, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info, take some of these with a grain of salt. That being said, the leak got a lot of things right and it wouldn't be surprising if the rest of the info is correct.
