Rise of the Necromancer DLC for Diablo 3 is rolling out next week. The DLC will bring an updated Necromancer character class from Diablo 2. The DLC will be accompanied by a free update which will add two new zones to the game.
Amid the news surrounding the Overwatch Anniversary event and the fresh map that launched yesterday, the closed beta for Diablo 3's Rise of the Necromancer DLC pack came to a close and now we have its release date. The closed beta was "invitation only" and it went live on 11 April.
The pack will bring the Necromancer character class from Diablo 2 into the world of its successor. The pack will be made available for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Diablo 3. It will be priced at £12.99. PC and Mac users will need to have the Reaper of Souls expansion installed.
Additionally, a new digital edition of the game named Diablo 3: Eternal Collection will soon be released. The new edition will be available for consoles. The Eternal Collection will have a price tag that reads £54.99. Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get it for £29.99.
The Necromancer class kept most of the skills you know from Diablo 2. Moreover, the class has been somewhat updated to fit the newer game's style. The Necromancer will be available for play in both Campaign and Adventure mode as soon as it has been released.
In addition to the new character class, The Rise of the Necromancer will bring two additional character slots, two stash tabs for PC players, a new in-game pet, some cosmetic wings, the requisite portrait, a banner, a sigil, an accent and a pennant.
A free update for all Reaper of Souls and Ultimate Edition players will accompany the release of the DLC. The patch will add two new zones: the Shrouded Moors and the Temple of the Firstborn; the Realms of Fate, and Challenge Rifts.
Rise of the Necromancer DLC will drop on 27 June.
