Following the confirmation that Sega and Tencent will skip E3 2023, Devolver Digital have also confirmed that they will not be at E3 expo. Instead, the publisher will focus on their own show dubbed Devolver Digital.
Devolver Digital are another publisher that will officially skip E3 2023 expo. Following the announcement yesterday that Japanese publisher Sega and Chinese company Tencent will not be part of E3, Devolver announced that they will be focusing on their own show, which will take place during Summer Games Fest.
"No Devolver E3 Parking Lot this year but we will have a fresh, new Devolver Direct presentation during SummerGameFest," the publisher tweeted.
Over the last couple of days, rumours have started to swirl online about a potential cancellation of E3, which would certainly be devastating news for all gamers. Many publishers have already confirmed they won't be attending E3, including Ubisoft , Xbox , Sony and Nintendo .
EA , Take-Two , Activision-Blizzard , Bandai Namco and Square Enix are just some of the major publishers who are yet to announce their presence at E3 and judging by the recent trend of bowing out of the expo, we doubt any of these companies will be there.
On the other hand, Konami are one of the publishers who will be at E3 2023, and according to some rumours, have plenty of show, including a new Castlevania game and a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake.
E3 announced a triumphant return in 2023 now that Covid-19 restrictions are gone but with so many developers and publishers already confirming they won't attend the expo, it doesn't look like this will be the big show that the organiser ESA have hoped for.
