Hunters will be saddened to hear that their favourite Exotic armour has been nerfed as Young Ahamkara's Spine becomes just another thing to collect dust in the Vault for the foreseeable future.
Granted, it was more powerful than other Hunter Exotics in Destiny 2 but Bungie really didn't measure the weight of their planned nerfs when it comes to this one.
As such, it will become terrible in both PvE and PvP.
Young Ahamkara's Spine nerfs
- Reduced the Tripmine Grenade's bonus health from 100 to 70 and removed the bonus 50 per cent damage resistance
- Grenade energy is now provided on ability kills instead of damage with abilities
The first of the two nerfs is aimed at PvP. It used to be much harder to kill a Tripine when a Hunter with this Exotic used it but now it will merely require an additional bullet or two. Considering that it was a headache to deal with these Tripmine before, the nerf would actually be good, if it wasn't compounded by the second one.
Since grenade energy is now provided only on kills, the Exotic will barely ever help you reduce the cooldown in PvP, meaning you won't see Hunters having multiple Tripmines active anymore. Previously, it was hard to deal with them because Hunters could close up multiple lanes with them but now that it's impossible, the grenade buff from the Exotic will be almost meaningless.
In PvE, the Exotic is still good against mobs with lower health but its usefulness against bosses has been erased. You can no longer have the grenade spam build with it so you may want to turn to other classes to get some decent DPS instead.
Don't miss:
