Hideo Kojima's upcoming title Death Stranding will feature multiplayer and it's been revealed that players won't have to pay for PlayStation Plus monthly subscription to access it.

Death Stranding release date is just around the corner and in the last few weeks, Hideo Kojima released a lot of new details about the game and the future of the new social strand system genre. Kojima talked about potential sequels and explained that Death Stranding is not a walking simulator and that the game won't get "really fun" until about halfway through the storyline.

Today, we also got a couple of new information about the game. Kojima officially announced that but another interesting detail was spotted on Death Stranding PlayStation 4 bundle, which was announced during the last State of Play live stream.

The Limited Edition bundle went for pre-order on UK retailer and the package which the retailer used on the site includes a message about PlayStation Plus requirement. The tiny note states that Death Stranding does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription despite its light multiplayer component.

"Paid-for PlayStation Plus subscription required for online multiplayer. Sold separately. Death Stranding does not require PlayStation Plus subscription,” it reads on the box.

While some may say that this was expected since Death Stranding doesn't feature a separate multiplayer mode or PvP, many players will be happy to hear this and find it surprising. Some games with asynchronous multiplayer require PlayStation Plus - FromSoftware's titles such as Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3 are just some of the examples of games that require the subscription.

Yes, FromSoftware games also have PvP which is probably the only reason why you need PS Plus but FromSoftware and Sony could probably offer the asynchronous multiplayer feature without requiring extra money.

Anyway, Death Stranding won't require a single additional dime on top of the $60 price tag and everyone with an internet connection will get to play it. The game launches on 08 November 2019 for PS4.
