Besides, if you're the type that doesn't like too many spoilers, Death Stranding's launch trailer should be your cup of tea. Kojima is well known for keeping things mysterious and in that respect - you could say he's outdone himself this time.
"Reconnect a fractured society as Sam Bridges. Save us all. Tomorrow is in your hands", says the video description and this combined with the trailer makes Sam's role a bit clearer.
Sam's traversing of Death Stranding's vast landscapes is not just about walking, even though it's already being described as a walking simulator. He's bringing network terminals online, which are supposed to rebuild the US and supposedly restore the connection.
One thing is for certain though - Sam's path to do so doesn't seem like an easy one, and there are some huge things blocking his way. We've already seen the preview's of the lion-looking monster, but there seem to be quite a few more. I mean, those are flying whales up there.
Extinctions and extinction entities? Well, at least it's traditional Kojima weirdness and we should know how it all fits in together soon enough.
Death Stranding launches on PlayStation 4 on 8 November 2019, while PC players will have to wait until a yet-to-be-announced date in the second quarter of 2020.
Kojima is showing a lot of confidence in his new game as he's allowed Death Stranding reviews to go out , which is more than Sony was prepared to do for some of their exclusives.
