Cypherpunk 2077's vehicles will not only be utilised for transport apparently since CD Projekt Red recently confirmed they will be used for a street racing minigame. Who knows, maybe we get to live out Fast & Furious fantasies in 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 features several vehicle types. Aside from the beautiful Quadra V-Tech that is shown all over the place, there is the motorcycle that was shown during the behind closed doors gameplay at E3 2019. It will be available to the wider public in August 2019 during PAX West.
Anyway, these vehicles will not be simple tools for getting from point A to point B since Cyberpunk 2077 will have several minigames to fill out our time, including street racing.
The confirmation came from CD Projekt Red's community manager, Lilayah, who was interviewed by Triple S League. She starts talking about Cyberpunk 2077's many minigames at the 4:05 timestamp in the video above.
Unfortunately, there is no word yet on whether we will get to pimp out our cars but considering the possibilities with character customisation, it's highly likely CD Projekt Red will involve at least basic car customisation, especially since we will get to bind cars to our garages and summon them just like Roach in The Witcher 3.
Therefore, they won't get lost so there is no need to exclude car customisation due to the risk of it being useless or unnecessary waste of time. There is no official confirmation on this yet though.
Street racing isn't the only activity Lilayah mentioned though. Players will be able to go to the shooting range and level up their firearms-related skills along with their own mechanics.

There was also some talk about potential romantic options where it was once again reiterated that we will have both meaningful and non-meaningful sexual encounters. While the player's sexuality is defined by the player, the sexuality of NPCs will be pre-defined.
