CD Projekt Red have finally revealed Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo to wide audience in all of its splendor. Based on the footage, it seems the long will be worth it. It is now available in 4K, as seen during E3 behind closed doors.
CD Projekt Red didn't go Bethesda's route with running the announcement stream for days before actually revealing anything. They instead waited about nine hours and then made everyone's day by meeting fans' expectations of a gameplay reveal, while exceeding those of the more cynical fans who expected less.
The demo seems to showcase everything most fans wanted from the game which is a rather rare occurrence these days, and CD Projekt Red really had to put their backs into it to meet such a tall order.
The graphics look gorgeous, gameplay fluid where the hardware permits it and RPG elements seem to be just in the right spot. The first person perspective threw some off, but it really comes to shine in the demo for maximum immersion.
The voice acting rarely seems out of place and there are some fine performances on display based on what seems like competent writing. It's hard for a voice actor to make a crooked story sound good, right?
Either way, some top talent seems to be present, as Dexter DeShawn, a fixer in Night City, sounds a lot like Erik Dellums, who voiced Three Dog in Fallout 3 and Nazir in Skyrim.
Maybe the best part of the demo was the fact that none of the screenshots posted earlier this year by CD Projekt Red were discarded, and they were an actual early look at the demo instead of random promotional material.
