Although most of Resident Evil Village discourse is dominated by bigger things like, say, Lady Dimitrescu, little guys like Ethan Winters got some attention too.
It didn't take long for the attention of fans to switch to other things, which is perfectly understandable, but the return of Ethan Winters is still a big decision in and of itself.
Capcom discussed Winters' inclusion in Resident Evil Village in an interview with the PlayStation Official Magazine, as caught by GameInformer.
"Concepting and planning was something going through our developers’ minds since towards the end of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard", said Resident Evil Village producer Peter Fabiano. "The team grew quite attached to Ethan as a character so we knew we wanted to continue his story arc. We wanted to continue to have players experience the game through the eyes of protagonist Ethan Winters. This is a continuation of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard after all."
We actually remember when Winters was the main surprise for the next instalment of Resident Evil, but thankfully, Capcom's quality work has in the meantime captivated fans on all fronts.
Nevertheless, Winters' inclusion served as something of a guiding light for Capcom's development team.
"This really helped to keep our vision on target. And since we are constantly sharing information across Resident Evil teams, that really helped inform us in making what we consider the best survival horror game to date", he said.
Capcom's art team recently expressed their delight at the reception of Lady Dimitrescu, and the art director said he was surprised with how many people actually want to be chased by her .
Thanks, GameInformer .
