Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will soon introduce 1v1 and 3v3 variations to its brand new Gunfight mode. This was confirmed by Joe Cecot, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight mode is one of the most popular new additions in the game at the moment. It a four-player mode, which makes it the smallest multiplayer mode in the game. It's played on specifically crafted maps and many players are enjoying it so much so they've started asking for more variations in the mode.
One Twitter user asked Joe Cecot, Co-Design Director of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer if Infinity Ward have plans to expand the mode, potentially by adding a 3v3 variant. Cecot's reply will certainly get many Gunfight players excited. Not only that Infinity Ward are working on 3v3 Gunfight mode, but they are also looking to bring 1v1 mode at some point.
Now, Cecot did not say when exactly will Infinity Ward add both of these to playlists but it's good to know that the devs are working on it and it's just a matter of time before we get to try them out.
It will be interesting to see if new maps arrive alongside the new modes. The current maps are more than enough for both 1v1 and 3v3 to be fair but it's possible that Infinity Ward plan even more, smaller or a bit bigger maps for these new additions.
Until Gunfight 1v1 and 3v3 officially arrive to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players will get plenty of other content to keep them busy during the winter. Tomorrow, 03 December 2019, the game is set to receive the biggest free content drop in the history of the franchise.
New Ground War map, game modes and the return of some iconic Modern Warfare content should be more than enough until new Gunfight modes arrive.
