Earlier this week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received Season One update which brought a lot of new content but also introduced a fair share of new issues on PC.
Many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have started to report a lot of fresh issues since the Season One update has been introduced a couple of days ago. It's not the first time that an update has brought all sorts of problems but this time, it seems that some of them make the game unplayable.
Constant crashing and freezing in multiplayer matches has been reported but the spotlight has been taken by irritating stuttering even on the top tier hardware such as i9-9900k and 2080ti. Over at Modern Warfare subreddit, players claim that the problem occurs usually at the beginning of a match when the game freezes about three or four times in the first 30 seconds.
Then as soon as an enemy player appears on the screen or players engage in a fight, the screen will freeze which means either dying or just shooting randomly. Players complain that happen all the time and have ruined countless gunfights which can be pretty frustrating.
We also encountered these issues and actually managed to fix the freezing by lowering our graphics settings from ultra to medium. You can try this workaround until Infinity Ward drop a fix.
Interestingly, the devs confirmed that PC performance has been severely impacted by the latest update, which is really not the best way to take care of your game. Hopefully, Infinity Ward will soon adress these problems so the Modern Warfare PC community can enjoy the game as intended.
