Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Co-Design Director Joe Cecot confirmed that the devs are working on improvements to spawns, footsteps sounds and more weapon tweaks, including the FAL.
Infinity Ward already released one update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, nerfing the game's most powerful guns - shotgun 725 and the assault rifle M4A1 - along with some tweaks to footstep sounds and minor fixes. The update also introduced two new maps, one for the massive Ground War mode.
The developers are looking to introduce even more tweaks and improvements to their shooter in the next updates. According to Modern Warfare multiplayer Co-Design Director Joe Cecot, the next batch of updates will look to improve the spawn system with further tweaks to footstep sound and weapons.
One of the weapons which will get tweaked in the near future is the FAL. This assault rifle is one of the worst weapons in the game at the moment with its low damage and intense recoil. The devs will look to tweak its mechanics to make it more competitive so expect a serious buff pretty soon.
As for the footsteps, Infinity Ward already tweaked the sound in the first update but additional changes for footstep audio when aiming down sights and crouch movement are coming.
It's possible that Infinity Ward once again takes a look at 725 shotgun and M4A1 assault rifle since the latest tweak didn't really do much and both are still the best weapons in the game. Another "issue" that many players are frustrated with is camping on both Ground War maps. Fixing this won't be easy but the devs should at least find ways to prevent heavy vehicles from reaching the higher points on Karst River Quarry.
All in all, it's nice that the devs are working hard to improve Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and hopefully, we won't have to wait for too long before these updates arrive.
