Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Co-Design Director Joe Cecot has confirmed that Infinity Ward feel they need to nerf the tanks a bit in one of the next updates.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward already released a couple of updates, which introduced fresh content but also tweaked some of the weapons in the game. At the moment, weapon balancing is the primary focus of the devs and it's expected that a lot more tweaks arrive to some of the most popular weapons in the game.
However, Infinity Ward will also look introduce some changes to vehicles since many players feel that these have some unfair advantages such as third-person view, which allows the tank driver to see players behind the cover in some cases.
Another annoying thing is the infinite ammo, which was pointed out by A Pamaaj from FaZe Clan. He tweeted directly to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Co-Design Director Joe Cecot suggesting that tanks should run out of ammo eventually. "I watched the movie Fury and the tank eventually ran out of Ammo. Can that be a thing in this game? Please?," A Pamaaj wrote in his tweet.
Cecot replied by saying that Infinity Ward probably need to adress this and nerf the tanks in future updates, but he didn't offer any specific details or when exactly players can expect this tweak. "We need to nerf the tanks a bit," Cecot simply replied.
It will probably take some time before the devs introduce this change but it's always nice to have a developer who listens to the community and works hard to bring the suggested changes as soon as possible. The same thing happened with 725 shotgun and M4A1 assault rifle. These two weapons already received a couple of nerfs and it's possible that more are on the way since they are still the most popular choices for many players.
