Infinity Ward have officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Spec Ops mode will support four-player co-op with multiple Spec Ops modes on launch.
The next instalment in the popular shooter franchise Call of Duty is coming later this month and to keep the hype at the highest level, the developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision have released a couple of new trailers, showcasing some of Modern Warfare's main features.
Yesterday, we got a launch trailer and it has everything you would expect from a Call of Duty trailer and today, it's more of the same in the latest, Special Ops mode trailer.
In case you're not familiar with Special Ops, it's an extension of the main singleplayer campaign, with new missions in four-player co-op. In the previous Call of Duty games, Special Ops missions were limited to only two players but in Modern Warfare you will be able to squad up with three buddies.
This new reveal will almost certainly excite many Call of Duty fans who were eagerly awaiting new about Special Ops. Four-player support promises new ways to eliminate the threat with tactics and strategy that were impossible before.
The Special Ops game mode will also include Operations and Missions. In Operations, players and their three buddies will have to infiltrate a warzone to complete a series of objectives in their own way. According to some earlier leaks, players will be able to choose which loadout and operator to use before they start the Operation with their team.
As for the Missions, you can play them solo or with three teammates. These are much more linear than Operations and have star ranks that are awarded at the end of each Mission. Players can also replay the Missions if they are not satisfied with their performance.
While some modes in Modern Warfare will be exclusive to PS4, Infinity Ward and Activision announced that Special Ops will be available on all platforms.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is officially hitting the shelves on 25 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
