Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 had a massive collaboration with The Boys and Dune. Previously, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 also had many celebrity and pop culture crossover events, including Modern Warfare FC, Evil Dead, Hellsing Ultimate, The Boys and He-Man.
Following the trend of collaboration, it's unsurprising that Sledgehammer Games has made plans for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In Season 2, we are getting a new crossover event with the Walking Dead. Moreover, there will also be other events throughout the whole season.
All Season 2 Events
There are 4 Season 2 events for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Modern Warfare Zombies. These events will appear consecutively before the Season 2 Reloaded update.
1. Horde Hunt (Launch, February 7 to March 6)
Total Rewards: 4
Horde Hunt is a Modern Warfare Zombies event. In this event, every week, players must hunt down new special High Value Zombie targets. After eliminating them, and collecting their skulls and bones many exclusive undead rewards can be unlocked.
2. Year of the Dragon (Launch Window, February 9 to 14)
Total Rewards: 10
The Year of the Dragon is an event of the Lunar Year celebration. By earning in-game XP, players can unlock exclusive in-game items such as emblems, calling cards, and camos. Addtionally, gain an XP boost by equipping the “Emperor” Skin from the “Full Kit” Dragon Soul: Lunar New Year Bundle.
3. Cryptid Bootcamp (In-Season, February 14 to 28)
Total Rewards: 9
No further details about this event have been revealed yet. However, many speculate this event might be associated with the return of the Vortex game mode.
4. The Walking Dead: Fear the Living (In-Season, February 28 to March 6)
Total Rewards: 10
The Walking Dead: Fear the Living is a crossover event between Call of Duty and AMC to promote The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. During this event, players can unlock exclusive rewards by earning in-game XP. Additionally, gain an XP boost by equipping the Michonne Operator from the Tracer Pack: The Walking Dead: Michonne Bundle.
Season 2 Reloaded Events (Mid-Season)
Expect additional events during the latter part of Season 2, including the Vortex: Decay’s Realm Event, as well as the Dune: Rule of Fate Event to celebrate the release of Dune: Part Two.
