Gearbox have announced the official date for the launch of Borderlands 3's first DLC chapter dubbed Mixxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, and we're looking at 19 December 2019, when players can snag some fresh and new Legendary loot.
Moxxi's heist is deeply personal as Handsome Jack stole her designs to build the casino, so it's more like payback than a heist. You know, just in case you've got ethical bones to pick, even though Pandora-dwellers aren't exactly the most ethical bunch out there.
"Moxxi's assembling a crew to plunder a derelict space station casino and you've proven yourself worthy of joining her ragtag team of 'experts.' Successfully battle your way through Hyperion security forces and crazed casino-goers to reach a safe loaded with Eridium, cash, and all-new Legendary loot", Gearbox wrote.
Borderlands 3 players who want to grab The Handsome Jackpot will need to progress enough to have access to Sanctuary III, but that's about the only requirement here.
Gearbox said that the enemies and the loot on the station will scale in accordance with your Vault Hunter level, meaning they will adapt to make it challenging and loot-worthy. The loot list includes Legendary weapons, gear, Vault Hunter heads and skins, weapon trinkets, an Echo Device skin and new emotes.
They're also promising "a blast from Pandora's past" when you face off against the Hyperion forces that stayed in Jack's wake, but there are "never-before-seen enemies and larger-than-life bosses" too.
Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot comes as part of Borderlands 3's season pass for premium DLC, which has another three campaigns slated for 2020, so it's not free. Gearbox, however, didn't provide the DLC's individual price, so more on that later.
