Gearbox Software have revealed their plans for Borderlands 3 special Valentine's Day celebrations which include new seasonal event and a level cap increase to 53.

Borderlands 3 developer Gearbox Software have shared a community love letter over at the official website, revealing some of the upcoming content, plans for balancing changes and more. One of the new additions is the upcoming seasonal event named Broken Hearts Day, which celebrates Valentine's Day.

During the event, enemies with hearts around them will spawn and it is up to you and your buddies to shoot them and by that, break their heart. Sounds pretty cruel but the more hearts you break, the bigger the rewards are.

Speaking about the rewards, there are new player and weapon skins, new weapons and trinkets among other things. Here is how you get these fancy new items:

  • Echo Skin - Break 10 Hearts
  • Weapon Trinket - Break 25 Hearts
  • Maliwan SMG with chaining beam - Break 50 Hearts
  • Valentine's Day Player Skin - Break 75 Hearts
  • The Wedding Invitation (Jakobs sniper rifle) - Break 100 Hearts

On top of this, the first level cap increase is coming soon. The Vault Hunter level will be raised from the maximum 50 to 53, timed with the debut of Broken Hearts Day. The level cap increase will give you three additional skill points, allowing you to improve your builds with new abilities.

Gearbox Software promise a lot more updates in the near future, one of these is the option to skip in-game cutscenes and there are plans for more performance and stability patches to enhance the player experience. You can read more about these in
