Ronimo Games and Devolver Digital have announced that their multiplayer dungeon crawler, Blightbound, will be available via Steam Early Access on July 29. In celebration, the game will launch with a 10 per cent discount from its $19.99 price.
Blightbound is a dungeon crawler with both online and local multiplayer options that will see three heroes face the abominations of the Blight - a strange and corrupting fog that covers the land.
Blightbound has a bunch of planned free updates that will add to the list of dungeons and loot the players will be able to obtain.
The looted items will help the player craft improvements for their heroes and add to their collection of attacks and abilities.
The players will be able to expand their roster of available heroes by recovering the fallen ones they found in the dungeons. There will be over 20 unique heroes, each with their own skillset, passive abilities, and a fully narrated story.
Each player will perform a specific role on the team - warrior, assassin, or mage - and all three will be important to achieving the end goal - overcome bosses and solve puzzles.
Each class will be able to charge their ultimate ability by performing their specific tasks: block damage as a warrior, interrupt enemies as an assassin or heal your allies as a mage.
Blightbound will let its players build a refuge atop a mountain and recruit artisans to craft more items, fulfil bounties, and train their heroes.
There will be three distinct areas, each with its own set of dungeons including:
- Gravemark
- Underhold
- Blood Ridge
