With less than a month to go until launch, Liquid Swords' brawler/car combat action title Samson has hit 250,000 Steam wishlists, which is a significant number for an original IP from a studio that was generally unknown to gamers before the hype train pushed Samson towards mainstream public.
Liquid Swords marked the milestone simply: "Thank you for 250,000 wishlists — it's been a wild journey to get here. We can't wait for you to experience Samson."
For context, these are pretty solid wishlist numbers for a game that really doesn't have a strong, massive marketing push behind it. Obviously, it's nowhere near some wishlists' numbers for AAA titles like the upcoming Crimson Desert, which hit 3 million recently, but Samson is not competing with such games either.
What is Samson?
For those not yet across it, Samson is an open world action game set in the fictional city of Tyndalston, inspired by 90s New York and Philadelphia. It's developed by Liquid Swords, a studio formed by former Just Cause developers, so you can pretty much expect non-stop action.
You play as Samson, a man navigating debt, survival, and the criminal underworld under the watch of mentor figure Carter and the shadow of a gang he owes money to.
Liquid Swords recently revealed that the game is structured around three core pillars: Chapters, which drive the narrative forward; Jobs, which earn you cash to manage your debt; and open exploration of Tyndalston itself.
Daily actions are finite, debt grows if left unpaid, and collectors will come looking if you fall too far behind. Cash can also be lost to ambushes, meaning every decision carries weight.
Samson launches on PC via Steam on April 8, 2026, priced at $24.99.
