The game is likely to be either BioShock or Mafia, with BioShock being developed by Cloud Chamber in Antarctica and Mafia being set before all previous parts in the series.

The publisher Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that next month it will publicly present a new game from a beloved series, and there are two candidates.

A new game from Take-Two Interactive publishing house will be presented at the Summer Game Fest on June 7. According to them, it is a "continuation of one of the biggest and most beloved franchises".

There are several candidates for that potential premiere, and among the most likely are the next BioShock and the new Mafia. Also, other candidates are Borderlands 4 and Sid Meier's Civilization 7.

We've known for years that the next BioShock is in development at the Canadian studio Cloud Chamber, and one of the most common rumors is that the game could take place in Antarctica. As for the new Mafia, it has been in development since 2022, and according to unofficial information, the plot will be set before all previous parts in the series.

On the Mafia franchise front, the last major sequel was 2016's Mafia III, although 2K released Mafia: Definitive Edition – a remake – in 2020. We also know that the next Mafia game is in development, so it could be announced soon.

BioShock has been inactive since 2013's BioShock Infinite. We know that 2K founded Cloud Chamber in 2019 to work on the next installment in the franchise. It's been almost five years since then, so Summer Game Fest seems like the perfect time to announce a new BioShock title.

There's a third contender – Borderlands 4, which we've also recently heard is in development. However, it seems all focus is now on promoting the Borderlands movie coming later this year.

In the end, it is worth mentioning that there is a fourth candidate – Sid Meier's Civilization 7 which is also confirmed to be in development from 2023. However, it is less likely that the project will be presented this early in the middle of development.
