EA and DICE have officially confirmed that the first trailer for Battlefield 2042's Hazard Zone mode will be coming on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
Battlefield 2042's mysterious Hazard Zone mode is officially getting revealed this week, EA and Dice confirmed via Battlefield social media channels. The trailer is set to premiere on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The trailer is 1 minute and 48 seconds in length.
The official description of the video describes the Hazard Zone mode as "an all-new high-stakes multiplayer experience". Battlefield insiders have already hinted that Hazard Zone could be DICE's take on Escape From Tarkov, a battle royale hybrid where players can search for valuable stuff on the map and extract their loot before the match ends. It's also how Crytek's Hunt Showdown works.
We do not have many details about Hazard Zone mode but it's safe to assume that we'll get to play it on Orbital, Hourglass, Breakaway and other huge maps that will be in Battlefield 2042 day one.
Since we have been pretty disappointed with Battlefield 2042's Orbital map in the Conquest Mode, which we got to play during the open beta test, we're eager to try out the Hazard Zone and see how it fits the Orbital map.
The mode does sound pretty intriguing and fun and it's entirely possible that DICE built these large maps primarily for Hazard Zone, which is why we didn't really enjoy Conquest that much.
