Ubisoft has revealed Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced's PS5 graphics modes, including 60 FPS support, upgraded PSSR, and enhanced ray tracing on PS5 Pro.

Ubisoft shared the full technical specifications for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on PlayStation 5 today, confirming the remake will run at 60 FPS on base PS5 hardware and provide a few visual upgrades on PS5 Pro systems.

Available July 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the game supports HDR, Dolby Atmos, and DualSense adaptive triggers/haptics on PS5 consoles.

The game includes three graphics modes on both PS5 and PS5 Pro:

  • Performance Mode: 60 FPS with Standard Ray Tracing and upscaled 4K (2160p)
  • Fidelity Mode: 30 FPS with Extensive Ray Tracing and upscaled 4K
  • Balanced Mode: 40 FPS with Extensive Ray Tracing (requires a 120Hz/240Hz display) and upscaled 4K

In addition to sharing the same frame rate options between consoles, PS5 Pro players will also unlock numerous graphical upgrades. All graphics modes support Extended Ray Tracing, allowing for improved lighting/reflections across all areas.

Ubisoft will also leverage improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) tech for cleaner image quality at an upscaled resolution of 2160p.

Additional improvements include a brand new strand-based hair rendering tech. While playing the game, Edward Kenway will showcase indvidually rendered moving hair strands that react realistically to his movement in all graphics modes. Fidelity Mode players will see nearby NPCs sport the same treatment.

During cinematics, all characters will take advantage of the improved hair rendering technology regardless of which graphics mode you’re playing on.
It’s worth noting that Sony has continued to iterate on what enhancements PS5 Pro players will recieve, with upgraded PSSR and improved ray tracing soon becoming baseline features for third party titles launching on PS5.
