Battle Sense is one of the features added to Apex Legends to enhance a player's awareness during combat by providing insights such as enemy locations and their health status, among other helpful details that EA and Respawn introduced.
First available only for Solos, Battle Sense has now expanded to all game modes, which include Ranked Leagues, starting in the Season 22 update.
One of the central features within Battle Sense is a suite of mechanics aimed at better educating players about combat situations. It's a HUD indicator that would light up when enemies are within 50 meters, highlighting enemies who are in close proximity, and it puts up health bars above enemy characters within the player's field of vision.
What is Battle Sense in Apex Legends?
At launch in Season 21, Battle Sense had the muddy HUD indicator and was only available in Solos. Developers have since decided to flesh the trait out a bit and make it available in every mode, including Ranked Leagues.
This means that if you don't really want to see your Battle Sense, technically, you can turn it off. This was mentioned in the press meeting for the new season. These combined mechanics allow a player to have very invaluable information about combat, specifically knowing when enemies are near, how much health they still have, and improves visibility by highlighting enemies in close-range fighting.
Gameplay style will thus be faster since players would want to keep on their toes and keep searching and fighting for enemies near them even when they cannot see or hear them.
This glow feature is most useful across the darker zones of maps in Apex Legends, like nighttime on the E-District. Prep yourself for this new map, along with the Battle Sense feature, by reading up on how to find the perfect sensitivity.
