Apex Legends decided to go through with this controversial decision and a bunch of players say that EA just killed the game. In its 22nd season, Apex Legends will present a redesign of the Battle Pass system, which in the future will contain two passes per season.
Apex Legends is introducing a new Battle Pass model starting next season, with a general outcry from players. In the future, each season in Apex will have two Battle Passes - one at the very beginning of the season, and the other in the middle of the season.
The Battle Pass will accordingly have fewer levels – 60 compared to the previous 110, but the rewards have generally remained the same or have been expanded with additional items. If you don't buy the Battle Pass but use the free version, that's even better because you'll get a chance to win even more stuff.
However, if the players are paying for Premium or Premium+ bundle, then they won't be thrilled with this. For starters, the Premium Battle Pass will no longer be purchasable with Apex Coins earned through gameplay.
Another thing, both Battle Passes during the season will be paid for separately, which is actually a hidden increase in price because you are paying for two Battle Passes in the same period where you previously paid for one.
Respawn Entertainment says that they didn't make the decision to charge like this lightly because the order came from Electronic Arts, but this should actually save more money for the players. Previously, the Premium Bundle cost 2800 Apex Coins, which was about $30.
Now Premium+ costs $20, which means almost 30% less. Of course, the reactions of Apex Legends fans are anything but positive. On Reddit, many people complain that the game is now dead for them. The bombardment of negative reviews has already started on Steam. In less than 24 hours, more than a thousand negative reviews were left for the game.
