In spite of the claims from the dev team that Rampart's abilities have changed significantly from the data mined version, they didn't. Nevertheless, let's dig into Apex Legends' new legend.
For starters, her full name is Ramya "Rampart" Parekh and the 21-year-old hails from Gaea, where she opened her popular modding shop and made quite a name for herself.
"Parekh climbed to the top showcasing pure skill using her custom-modded gear. She began taking jobs from smugglers, Syndicate members, and everyone in between. Some say it ain’t great unless it’s got Rampart written on it'."
Apex Legends' newcomer is apparently pretty quick to remind opponents how bad they are, which may or have something to do with her shop going up in flames. Thankfully, the Apex Card means she can keep doing what she does - turning "crap into gold".
Tactical: Amped Cover
As you could've seen in the trailer, Rampart's tactical builds a crouch-cover wall, which in turn deploys a full-cover amped wall. The amped wall blocks all the incoming shots and amps outgoing ones.
Passive: Modded Loader
Rampart's passive ability should make her really fond of LMGs, as she gets increased magazine capacity and faster reloads when using them and Sheila, her death-spewing stationary Minigun. Speaking of Sheila...
Ultimate: Emplaced Minigun 'Sheila'
Mirage got his answer - Rampart's ultimate places a mounted machine gun that can be used by anyone. Sheila boasts high ammo capacity but has long reload times, both of which are improved when she's operating it.
As the above trailer says well - she may have a big mouth, but she has a big gun to back it up. Apex Legends players will find that she's awesome when it comes to fortifying positions and we can already think of a few that'll make her holds much tougher to crack.
Given how Season 6: Boosted introduced shielded cover on a few spots on the map, we can help but think of combining them with Rampart's skill and making a bonafide fortress.
