We're really going to run out of epithets If Respawn's writing department don't stop hitting us in the feels, where the latest one is about Apex Legends' beloved tin can, Pathfinder.
Such is life - you're born a bucket and spend the first half of your life trying to get high fives. Next thing you know, you're sentient and looking for who actually made you. That's, like, way worse than a nerf.
The book is called Apex Legends: Pathfinder's Quest and the description reads, "From the writers of Apex, explore the world through the eyes of Pathfinder as he chronicles his journey to interview his fellow Legends in hopes of locating his creator. EXCITING!"
There's not much else in terms of official info, so we headed straight for the Twitter profiles of Apex Legends' dynamic writing trio - Manny Hagopian, Ashley Reed and Tommie Casiello.
Interestingly enough, it looks like the Apex Legends writing team may get a fourth member in principal animator Moy Parra. According to the three, his contributions were instrumental in Pathfinder's book, although revealing them would sort of spoil the fun.
Note, however, that even though the book is about Pathfinder, it's still a team effort so no matter who your favourite legend is - they're certain to appear.
"It may be Pathfinder’s quest, but it’s not all about JUST Path. Legends will reveal secrets, detail important times in their lives, and learn shocking news that will catapult their stories into future seasons of the game! It doesn’t just compile lore. This book *is* lore!", Casiello wrote.
Reed confirmed we'll get to find out who gets ship-sick, who makes the best lists and whether one of the legends lives in a cave, so expect to be even more enamoured by Apex Legends' cast afterwards.
If I've said it once, I said it a million times - creating a compelling narrative and a flawed but beloved cast of characters was impossible in the battle royale genre. And then Respawn did it anyways. Long story short - buy the book friends. High five!
