Apex Legends digital revenue has seen a massive decline for the second month in a row according to Superdata numbers. Respawn's battle royale earned $23 million in April, which is 74 per cent down when compared to the previous month.

After the initial, record-breaking numbers which were reached with a hype generated by a guerilla launch by Respawn and EA, Apex Legends is experiencing a steep decline over the last two months in both player count, Twitch views and digital revenue.

According to Superdata research, Apex Legends earned $24 million in April 2019, which is significantly down for the second month in a row. In February, Superdata had Apex Legends' digital revenue at $92 million, which means that the revenue has seen a staggering decline of 74 per cent in the space of just two months.

With these numbers, Respawn's battle royale is no longer in Superdata's Top 10 worldwide grossing titles for either PC and consoles. The decline is looking pretty serious given that Apex Legends had a best-ever start for a free to play title.

However, disappointing Battle Pass and lack of new content didn't help the game, which also dropped out of Twitch's Top 10 most-watched games. Apex Legends is also behind its two main competitors - Fortnite and PUBG.

As for the Superdata's list for April 2019, League of Legends is first on PC, while Mortal Kombat 11 managed to dethrone Fortnite Battle Royale from the top spot on consoles. NetherRealm's brutal fighter had the best digital launch in franchise history, selling 1.8 million digital units across console and PC in May 2019, up from 400,000 units for Mortal Kombat X in 2015.

NBA2K growth accelerates and Superdata estimate in-game spending grew 101 per cent year over year in April, which is the largest single month growth for the franchise in the last three years.
