With Season 2 of Apex Legends drawing dangerously close, Respawn Entertainment tweeted "Repulsor Tower > Complete" and added a GIF whose content you'll miss if you blink, but which sheds a bit more light on what the developer has in store.
That said, the tweet reveals plenty without the GIF, especially is you've been following Apex Legends Season 1 leaks or if you happen to recall Titanfall's seventh campaign mission.
We're talking about The Three Towers mission, where Sarah ends up taking down the three Repulsor Towers, whose job is to keep Leviathans and Flyers away from the facility.
The flash GIF reads, "Site: Repulsor Tower, Kings Canyon Solace. Issue: Weak signal - wildlife intrusions into arena. Standard wear and tear. Correction: Amplification."
So, the service report clearly states Apex Legends' Repulsor Towers are malfunctioning, which explains the appearance of and hopefully means that we'll be seeing Leviathans making their presence known across Kings Canyon.
While seemingly peaceful by nature, Leviathans' sheer size and presumably random positioning would mean that players are better off evading some drop points, which, if true, would actually be quite a clever and dynamic way to make Respawn's hectic shooter even more hectic.
Apex Legends leakster FrozenFroh suggested during the game's maiden season, suggesting the two will be added in Season 1, but that was before Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella over fans' hopes that the team will emulate Fortnite's relentless update schedule.
Respawn did say, however, that Season 2 of Apex Legends will attempt to make up for all the shortcomings of its predecessor, especially when it comes to new, meaningful content.
Season 2 of Apex Legends kicks off on 02 July 2019 for all platforms.
