It's been a really long while since we first heard the name Loba and with Revenant's trailer leaving a trail of breadcrumbs all over, it seems that we're finally drawing close to her launch. Well, hopefully.
We're saying hopefully because, as data miners will surely readily confirm, game development can be a quite dynamic business, where things can change overnight.
Nevertheless, Loba is one of Apex Legends characters that's been rumoured almost as far back as the game itself. In fact, she's been beaten to her introduction by a number of characters, who Respawn found to be more adequate.
Prominent Apex Legends data miner going by the Twitter name Shrugtal has recently posted his own theory of what will go down next. He dubbed it Shrugtal's Crackpot Teaser Theory, and while the theory is a bit out there - it's not impossible.
Shrugtal argues that in looking to find out her identity, Wraith is trying to access a supposedly buried Ares facility in World's Ege. This is where her quest and Loba's attempts to steal the tech hidden within get entangled, transporting the traveller to Singh Labs on King's Canyon.
Now, Loba's abilities in Apex Legends have been a matter of public knowledge if you knew where to look. We'll steer clear of spoilers but we will say that her abilities stem from the tech she steals in the quite massive Singh Labs.
Once she has it, though, it will be time for a proper introduction to the Apex Legends cast, and there's quite a bit of data in this part, which makes it a bit difficult to guess Respawn's plans.
Knowing Loba's tragic backstory from the end of Revenant's trailer, she shouldn't take too long to fit into the rest of Apex's Legends. As for her thieving, well...we can always nerf Wraith again.
