Apex Legends trailers are always a spectacle, whether they're going for humour or absolute brutality of the Season 4: Assimilation's trailer. You know, the one where Revenant kills everyone but the doorman, and it was all choreographed to the last action.
Mind you, we only think the doorman survived because Revenant is more of a roof-entrance type of guy. Well, simulacrum. Whatever, you know what we mean.
Seeing Revenant's spectacular entry and the subsequent John-Wick-meets-Robocop bloodbath makes it really easy to forget that these are all meticulously thought out, choreographed and motion-captured by professionals.
Yeah, even the part where Revenant introduces one guard to all the reasons why faces and abrasive materials don't really go well together at certain velocities. Awesome grinding skills by the way, but we doubt the guard agrees. He didn't run though, so you could say that he at least saved face, right?
Apex Legends: Assimilation trailer was done with the assistance of 87eleven Action Team crew, who you can't help but feel for occasionally. I mean poor fellows genuinely fly off spinning at times, which is probably why it's best left to professionals.
Revenant's addition to Apex Legends has set up the story for the game's most likely next character, Loba, who is presumed to be the little girl he spared in the end. In fact, players may have even seen teasers in the game, but we'll refrain from claims until we see it for ourselves. After, it took Revenant long enough.
While we're on the subject of Revenant, he's traditionally unpickable in Apex Legends unless you're the first one choosing, but not everyone is impressed with his respawn mechanic. Naturally, it's still fresh and fun to try, but it will probably require a few tweaks before it gets considered for higher-level play.
