Anthem's Inscriptions have been tweaked to make them more suited for the weapon they are attached to. Bioware also removed white and green items from level 30 drop tables and reduced the materials needed for crafting masterwork items.

Bioware have shared a detailed list of forthcoming changes to Anthem's loot system which are going live today - 28 February 2019.

In a post on Reddit, Bioware's Lead Producer Ben Irving said that these changes are a result of players' feedback which pointed at some issues with Inscriptions and loot drops on high levels.

Players felt that many inscriptions are not useful to the items they are attached to which led to masterworks grind, just to get that perfect one. The request was to increase the frequency of masterwork drops or to change the Inscriptions so they are more useful.

Well, according to the notes, Bioware tacked the Inscriptions problem by making them "better for the items they are on". The change applies to new items earned in Anthem and not the existing ones in player's Vault.

Inscriptions that apply only to the items they are attached to - the ones with the gear icon, will be useful only to that item. Otherwise, they will provide your Javelin with wide benefits.

This means that Assault Rifles, for example, will not have an item specific inscription and additional pistol damage inscription. They may offer electric damage suit bonus instead, suitable for lightning builds.

At the moment, there is a large pool of inscription options and every masterwork item has four slots for these inscriptions. With the new update, the pools are smaller and are targeted to the specific item type.

This means that instead of having a Weapon pool, Anthem will now have an Assault Rifle pool which has an additional four pools for each inscription slots.

Furthermore, primary inscriptions will mainly offer damage and survivability bonus while secondary ones will focus on utility.

Another major change is the removal of white or uncommon and green or common items from level 30 drops.

Bioware also reduced the number of crafting materials needed to craft a masterwork from 25 masterwork embers to 15 masterwork embers.

This should allow players to craft more items which can be used to get their preferred inscription.
