Andromeda is now complete and still broken

EA and what's left of BioWare are done with trying to repair Mass Effect: Andromeda's singleplayer. During the weekend the publisher has announced that there will be no further patches or updates to the game's singleplayer, but multiplayer will remain on life support.

EA have announced that Mass Effect: Andromeda's singleplayer will never get less broken than it is with version 1.10, as the publisher has decreed that no further patches be made to the game's campaign. Multiplayer will still be getting updates.

If EA has decided to abandon the singleplayer, it probably means they aren't counting on anyone buying it, or the base game for that matter either. In any other market or industry, a product as broken as Andromeda still is would be cause for mass recalls and refunds. Nothing of the sort will happen for Andromeda. The games industry is just special like that.

This is what happens when you make a sequel with 1/3 of the necessary staff and in half the time invested in any of the pervious series entries. Your broken and unfinished game sells well, everyone is upset but amnesia inevitably kicks in - time to lube up for the next dance.

BioWare is currently busy with , and most of the staff responsible for Andromeda are now either in support roles or absorbed into EA Motive.

Still, this is good news for the five remaining players on the game's multiplayer servers - more events and microtransaction goodies are coming their way.
