We've got some in-game and out-game news coming from camp Ubisoft as the company announced that Bayek, a friendly face from Assassin's Creed: Origins, can be recruited in AC: Odyssey and that the latter didn't require that much crunch.

All you need to do to unlock Bayek is hop on over to the Ubisoft Club and register, if you haven't done so already. Redeeming Bayek will add him as a lieutenant to your Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Adrestia, so that you can at least have a friendly face while sailing around.

This is the second familiar character Ubisoft have added to Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the first being Edie Frye for AC: Syndicate. Of course, we're talking about characters that are well apart historically but this isn't about authenticity, to begin with, so who cares.

Ubisoft also rolled out the much-awaited and a bit delayed The Black Wind event. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey players can pick up the bounty, locate the ship and proceed to pummel it to earn themselves some Orichalcum, the game's currency, and some fancy sails to show off.

With all the hoopla around Rockstar and Red Dead Redemption 2's  , the question of how Assassin's Creed: Odyssey fared in that respect was bound to be asked sooner or later and Ubisoft are actually pleased with how things went there. The company stated that even though there's always room for improvement when it comes to crunch, it was nowhere near what triple-A titles required 5 or 10 years ago.

Much like RDR2, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey was developed across as much as 10 studios, so it's perhaps a bit unwise to generalise such statements. However, Ubisoft did say that the game a year before it launched, so we guess the company could've learned from its earlier mistakes.

While speaking to , Ubisoft's representative said, "We collectively, on the management team, think that it is a false economy to burn out our teams. We risk losing them, or we risk disengaging them". Amen Ubi, amen.
