Ubisoft have rolled out a launch trailer for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's second big DLC The Fate of Atlantis, whose first chapter arrives on 23 April 2019. Dubbed Fields of Elysium, the chapter will take players to the land of the dead.
"The first episode, titled Fields of Elysium, takes Alexios or Kassandra on a journey into the Greek afterlife, where they'll battle the forces of the Isu amid the otherworldly beauty of the titular paradise", Ubisoft wrote.
Fields of Elysium arrives simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, and as they "confront Greek gods and mythical creatures", players will be earning new legendary items and such.
You can catch a glimpse of one of the mythical creatures in question at around 1:20, which is the three-headed dog Cerberus, guardian of Hades.
Additionally, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey players will unlock specially tweaked variations of their existing abilities, which includes Ares Bull Charge, Ares Madness, Kronos Time Warp and Might of Artemis. The dev mentioned that more will be added in the later episodes.
If you've been following along and have completed Between Two Worlds, as well as the Heir of Memories, which is part of the Lost Tales of Greece, the only requirement for starting The Fate of Atlantis is being higher than level 28.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey players who haven't been as diligent with the in-game questlines needn't worry though, as Ubisoft included a shortcut option to kick off the new DLC.
"Those who want to jump straight to The Fate of Atlantis can take advantage of a shortcut option, enabling them to start with a new hero at level 52, and begin Heir of Memories before tackling Fields of Elysium. However, this option won't let you carry over your progress to the main campaign, or earn achievements", they wrote.
The Fate of Atlantis will feature two more episodes called Torment of Hades and Judgement of Atlantis, so Ubisoft are obviously sticking to the Atlantis-afterlife parallels.
