Ubisoft have rolled out the latest update to Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's Story Creator Mode, where they added a bunch of new features like character-NPC transactions, cloning of certain operators and even took care of NPC fleeing behaviour.
Story Creator Mode's update is already live and it adds plenty of features that will make the creation of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey stories a much more in-depth affair, provided players are willing to put in the effort.
The first one is Transaction, which lets the mode set a transaction of items between the player and NPC during a dialogue. This feature checks whether the player has the item in question, which creates additional branching options.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey story-makers will now be able to clone and duplicate certain operators in a copy-paste fashion. The list of cloneable operators is as follows:
- Escort Objective;
- Zone Starter and Goto Objective;
- Wait All (inside the Quest canvas);
- Set Variable (in both the Quest canvas and Dialogue Editor);
- Variable Condition (in both the Quest canvas and Dialogue Editor);
- Choice Hub;
- Random Branch, and;
We must admit the following change gave us a chuckle, as it reminded us of just how much abuse NPCs take on a daily basis in a wide variety of games, not just Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. Oh well, such is the life of an NPC.
Anyway, the feature is called Flee Behavior and it lets story creators pick a location to where the NPC will flee to. It also lets you specify whether he flees somewhere else, or tries to get back whenever able.
Ubisoft also tweaked Story Creator mode's existing features like Escort objective. "The Follow behavior is back! Set a Zone as the target destination and the NPC will follow the PC to the zone", they wrote.
Dialogue Editor's loading times have been improved, and Ubisoft also fixed a few bugs, like the disappearing question marks in Sequence and Choice Hub, missing right-click menu on Objective groups and made it possible to make line breaks in dialogue lines.
